Committed to success.

“Happiness is not something ready made.  It comes from your own actions.” ~ Dalai Lama.

“To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind, he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.”  ~ Buddha.

Success in life is not something far-fetched, as our minds would have us believe; but it is something we have to reach by mastering ourselves every single day, because success and the bliss along with it is right around the corner for everybody, but we have to become ready to materialize it from energy into something we humans can actually experience.  Take love, for example:  True love is a substance which is perfect and that elevates your mind and heart to unlimited heights of existence, and it is already who you truly are; however, you cannot experience love in your physical body unless you experience some human interactions first–like relationships, or living your life without fear, or giving your life to the service of others, etc. etc.

believeinyourdream

Happiness, bliss, is something we already are, something we are by divine nature; however, because we are human beings and bound to space and time, then, in order to experience our own divine nature, our own happiness, there are certain habits and styles of being we must welcome and adopt every single day.

This divine nature is energy, and so we must be vigilant of its vibrations; therefore, our surroundings and choices, our communications and interactions with the world, must be aligned, to the best of our knowledge, with our own divine energy in order to elevate ourselves and not pollute ourselves.

And this is extremely important to have in mind always.

“It’s really important that you feel good.  Because this feeling good is what goes out as a signal into the universe and starts to attract more of itself to you.  So the more you can feel good, the more you will attract the things that help you feel good and that will keep bringing you up higher and higher.”  ~ Joe Vitale; American singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist.

"Miracles."

“Every moment of light and dark is a miracle.”  ~ Walt Whitman; American poet, essayist, journalist, and humanist.

“Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.”  ~ Jim Rohn; American entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker.

Miracles are all around us, life is a miracle, the events happening every day are miracles; but, however, it all depends on how we choose to see life, it depends on our individual perspective on every situation we encounter.  And our perspective depends on the mental condition we adopt, the vigilance on our own thoughts and the actual design of wise reactions.

akasha7

We are God means that we, and only we, have the responsibility and heavenly power to reach bliss in all situation; therefore, no imagination, deity, or saint outside of ourselves has any power or control over our own life or life’s events.  It is really foolish then, and sadly enough it is what most ignorant people do each day, to believe and lean on an outside power created by a massive ego and fueled by the nonsense of all religious texts and clergy men.

Stop being lazy and playing the victim while complaining for your own stupidity in life, reach your inner God and be confident enough to accept responsibility for your own actions.  Whatever happens in your life, either extremely good or the most evil thing you can experience, is always you; either because you chose it with your actions in this life, or because you agreed to the challenge in the past before birth.

Nothing is random. There is purpose and reason for everything and anything that happens. Don’t try to question it.

Accept whatever goes on your life, silence the nonsense in your mind, and keep going.

Mutual evolution...

“Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.”  ~ Bruce Lee.

“If we lose love and self respect for each other, this is how we finally die.”  ~ Maya Angelou.

Living in this realm of duality, where light and darkness must stand side by side and where love and fear hold hands together, man must find the balance and rise above his own Lower Self and powerful ego; however, always keep connected to this world and grow connections with other minds which still remain in the dominion of the Lower Self.  After all, that is what being a human is all about, expressing your spirit through connections, through the sharing process, through the expansion of self-love.

22154543_1118898484908136_7065394627471117254_n

And even though we are all different and at different levels of understanding and maturity, we can still see beyond all the different experiences and cultural backgrounds if we allow ourselves to be led by the pure heart and not by the judging thought which divides us.  In those moments of conflict or anger because of differences and opinions among people, always remind yourself that we all are doing the best we can from our level of understanding and experience.

Walk with each other, connect with one another, and always try to help in the freedom and elevation of the human spirit.  The wise process of connection is to always be patient and poised in front of all differences, and to not label one another in your mind because this designs fears and anger towards one another.

The man with higher understanding of Nature is believed insane by the Lower Minds.  The Lower Mind of common understanding is too “normal” to see his own ignorance, and only the Higher-Thinking man can help him reach higher levels of understanding.
But they both need time and tolerance to accept each other and respect their own times and individual steps to mental elevation.

The toxic fool!

“The reality is that the only way change comes is when you lead by example.”  ~ Anne Wojcicky; American biotech analyst, biologist, and businesswoman.

Have you noticed that most people are always complaining about something, even though they don’t see themselves as complainers…??  And what about all those individuals always focusing on politics and other people while their own lives are a mess and they feel themselves so self-righteous...??  The mediocrity of society.  This sickness is always ready to ruin more lives.
complaints
People even complain and feel pity about themselves instead of accepting and moving on.
I don’t think anyone of us is immune to it, but specially this is damaging for the weak mind which sees the world separated from itself.  When you see the world apart from yourself, you think in your own illusion that by complaining or lashing out with condemning words you are being helpful, thus you feel like you are doing something.  Obviously, these are rather pathetic fools that fail to see the reality of it all, namely ‘Oneness,’ that you and the world are one, and that only leading by example aids in changing the world.

Arguing and complaining just feeds the ego to bring more negativity into your persona and into your life; this, certainly so, affects the opportunities you have and the people you attract.  Mediocre minds are the highest percentage of the world’s population, and so we must focus our attention on leading by example–it could very well be on the small things, like helping carry groceries or taking care of someone sick.

As long as you keep complaining and arguing about the world, the outcomes in your life won’t be fruitful, because by being negative your mind is not accepting but denying, and exactly this corrupts your whole existence, it pollutes your whole existence.

“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.” ~ Buddha.

Time and Energy.

“We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.” ~ Nelson Mandela.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” ~ Nikola Tesla.

“When Your Energy vibrates at a frequency that is in direct alignment with what the universe has been attempting to deliver your entire life, you begin to live in the flow and true miracles start to happen.” ~ Panache Desai; British spiritual teacher and author.

Time and Energy
Humans are beings of energy we call spiritual, coming from the realm of the immaterial and eternal, where no fear, thought or emotion exists, where all is peace and unity and no duality has place.  This is pure divinity, pure energy.

But in order for us to experience physical life, time and space opened the vortex into aging and moving from one place to another in forms of blemished matter.
So, we are ruled or based upon two conditions, which are Time (which creates all duality) and Energy (which irradiates life into otherwise dead matter and creates all human expression); however, these two are, of course, one and the same, but our minds separate the two, and that is why most people see only the differences on earth–i.e., trees, animals, humans of different colors, rocks, air, water, etc.

But either we see and understand Oneness in all Creation or not, the truth is that we must embrace the time on this earth and use the energy of the human spirit wisely, because our time here is to experience and reach higher levels of consciousness, but even more than that to experience through the efficient use of our energy, the energy forming our mind and body.

We cannot expect time to do everything we, as wise beings of energy, should do, because time is a constant flow and its purpose is just to allow us to create experiences which can bring us all growth; energy is the eternal entity we must move and use to create through time.

We do not become wise masters of our time here by sitting or even praying for a miracle or for time to create something great for us; time is just a constant which will only pass and it has no purpose of Creation, energy does.  We are Creators, manifesting is our work; and we have the right tools, which are our minds and our bodies, and through its proper use we become masters.

Don’t let time fool you. “Great things take time,” the saying goes; yes, but time itself does not do anything, the wise management of your energy through intentions and actions do.

Time and Energy

The thorn.

"When we have painful memories from hurting experiences, we may feel justified in holding on to the resentment.  But resentment is corrosive.  It doesn't affect the person we feel anger toward, it destroys the host." ~ Susan L. Taylor; American editor, writer, and journalist.

Painful memories

Memories, specially painful ones, have the power to arrest our bodies, even our clear thinking; however, they only hold that power if we allow them to, because memories are just thoughts which somehow have stayed with us throughout our lives, and thought is always an entity we can watch.
Quite often, we go ahead and entertain painful memories because deep inside we like to feel like victims or feel that somehow if we remind ourselves of the pain we'd be less guilty, or, even worse, through reliving painful memories the ego manifests that we deserve our guilt.

This is getting some form of twisted pleasure from feeling guilt and blaming ourselves and carrying that weight on us over and over again--i.e., a sort of masochism, and certainly ignorance.

And, as we all know, self-blame is one of the most toxic forms of emotional abuse.  It amplifies our perceived inadequacies, whether real or imagined, and paralyzes us before we can even begin to move forward.  And what is even worse, because it poisons your body and causes all kinds of tension, and it changes your mood and the vibrational state of your entire body, your loved ones and all people you come in contact with are affected too.
As Buddha wisely said: "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional."
Painful memories are always there; but you can accept them and move on, do not engage with them as they emerge; or you can allow them to make you suffer and cripple your emotional body while affecting you and others you love.
Your life.
Your choice.

Painful memories

The smoking gun.

“Let the refining and improving of your own life keep you so busy that you have little time to criticize others.” ~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.; American motivational author.

There seems to be a distortion in the rationale of most human beings, one which is clouded and poisoned by our own subconscious habits, and it is the fact that criticism takes over and lashes out onto others.  There is not enough looking into oneself and fixing one’s own issues, which is self-love and so the mind occupies itself on something actually worth to our human condition, but instead the lazy and easy path is taken to tear down others and build this false sense of superiority in oneself.  This is the very opposition of wisdom.

BTDL_Criticism
How many times you have looked at the news and criticized the way society does something or the way people behave?  How many times you have criticized your family and friends?  Why do you allow the actions of others to annoy you enough to grab your own attention so you say something to criticize or belittle them?

Human beings have this process the ego has created and which is being allowed to rule their interactions, it has become part of their habits even, where if there is something wrong with the world (whatever it might be) is time to criticize, like some automatic button pushed right when something they don’t like happens.

And most of us do this because the better and wiser habit of looking into ourselves and into our own behaviors is not there, it hasn’t been built into us, because the ego is lazy and it takes honesty and courage with ourselves to have this self-love and inner contemplation, something we haven’t worked on.

For the ego it is easier to criticize others–i.e., our families, friends, coworkers, even people we do not know–and it gives us a false sense of superiority and responsibility disguised as love and constructive criticism.

But this process is the illusion we built out of ignorance and pride, it does not elevate our human spirit but it shrinks it. Conscious elevation can only happen if we are actually conscious and have developed authentic self-love, for once we have developed this we can pour this true love onto others and truly help; but, until then, whatever we do by criticizing and however we disguise it, is an illusion which harms our very awakening.

The light of the story.

“I think the best stories always end up being about the people rather than the event, which is to say character-driven.”  ~ Stephen King, American author.

As you start to plan a story in your mind, a powerful desire to create rich plot and characters is born, something which can get your interest and burn passionately inside you, to thus motivate you to do your best all the way through the story, from start to finish but to enjoy the creative journey.  A very wise and professional way to do this and be successful at any form of storytelling, indeed emotionally connected, is to mentally personify key elements in that story, to pour and spread yourself in that story; therefore, the most important aspects of that story will be enriched if you write about things and experiences from your own life, and if each character, or at least the main character, has some features belonging to your persona, in order to make the story emotionally rich and real to the reader or audience.  Because there is no more emotion and reality you can talk about than the ones in your own persona and experience.

If you wish to create a character that is really different from you and that has no qualities which can be found in yourself, this is fine also if you have some experience watching people and understanding the psychology of others so you can make this new character pop up in your story; however, your main character (protagonist) will make or break your story, no matter how good the plot is and how much fantasy or action there is, so you will have to extend yourself into this particular character, embody this character in the flesh, know how he thinks and feels, his beliefs and his intentions (you must do this with all characters in your story, but most importantly with your main one).  This is the key to your story’s success, so do not ignore it.

Quotation-Beem-Weeks-character-Meetville-Quotes-112919

In the world of film-making, screenwriting mostly (the story’s true creator), it has been stated that invention is often memory in disguise.  And this means that true emotion and connection shall emerge from something you know by heart, perhaps some hint of a experience you had or some trait you have gained from your past.  See, the writer must perform in his mind, be God and be everywhere, rapidly shifting points of view that look at different characters at different moments.  The point here is to create something rich which can really move you and build a passion in you, and at the same time create something which can also move the audience and connect them to you through your work; but, obviously, if you are not successful in this process, it does not matter the wonderful scenarios depicted in your work, your art will suffer and people won’t connect to it.
I have written a screenplay, in early states of production now, called: “Michael Vega: Loose Damned.”  And for the purpose of demonstrating further, I would like to share some lines here.  I have written the main character, Michael Vega, based on me, or at least some traits:

FADES INTO BLACK, we hear rattling of chains and screaming.
EXT. ENTRANCE OF CREEK – MOMENTS LATER
The same disheveled and burned-up man comes out crawling from the quiet waters, breathing heavily while in pain.  He staggers up, looks around confused and lost.
CAMERA FOLLOWS FROM MAN’S POV, right side straight into emptiness, then left side to overlooking empty road.  On post, he sees a sign:

ASHFORD COUNTY LAKE.  HEBER 20 MILES.

Michael (V,O- Voice Over)
“Hi, my name is Michael Vega.  That much
I do remember…  And I’m not ordinary nor
          pathetic…”

CAMERA SHOWS HIS FULL FACE AND TORSO NOW, he looks 35 years old, wears the cool black, face significantly scarred.  He limps to rock and sits, sees visions (flashes) of flames and hears chains rattling, cackles and slaves being whipped.  Flashes stop and he agonizes in silence.  Clutches head.

(Side note:  A little explanation.  Notice how Michael is depicted here; this is basically me, because I am also 35 years old now, love wearing black jackets, and Michael also has endured a tough and “hellish” life, just like me in my real life.)

Continues…

Michael (V.O)
“I did something not many do to get here.
I’m looking for someone.  But this is all
I will tell you for now, you don’t need
to know more.  Just remember, I’m not
          ordinary nor pathetic.”

CAMERA PULLS OUT AND FADES IN TO BLACK, all silent except for rattling chains and screams of pain.
EXT. PAVED ROAD – SAME DAY
CAMERA FOLLOWS MICHAEL’S POV, only his heavy breathing and pained grunting are heard.  Straight view of the overlapping empty road, we see nothing but pavement, clear skies and side empty fields for a while.
CAMERA’S ANGLE CHANGES DRASTICALLY, now we see the road and his ominous shadow limping for drama scene, exhausted, about to…
6.
CAMERA SHOWS HIS SIDE BODY COLLAPSING, then zooms to face on the ground.  Centers on eyes squinting and bleeding blood.
CAMERA PULLS OUT AND FADES IN TO BLACK, all silent except for rattling chains and screams of pain…

Magic Book.”
Characters, plot, subplot, tension;
All human experience, emotional connection.
What does magic have to do with storytelling…??
Well, it is all about creating worlds, human compelling.
And why does it have to be richly character-driven…??
Because rich characters create that world, that is a given.
Great movies show and then tell, never the other way around.
Excellent novels free the mind to dream and become spellbound.
I find stories and things coming alive wherever I look,
As soon as I wake up I get lost in my magic book.

The genius of storytelling.

“The fact of storytelling hints at a fundamental human unease, hints at human imperfection.  Where there is perfection there is no story to tell.”  ~ Ben Okri; Nigerian poet and novelist.

Storytelling is, plain and simple, ALWAYS, a performing art. You cannot be a great storyteller if you are not able to build great scenarios in your mind’s eye and specifically direct the scenes with protagonist and antagonist.  You could be a professional writer film-maker, actor, or any other, but you will never connect with any audience at a deeper human level, or bring extraordinary success to your life and craft, if you cannot arrange and control these creative energies in your mind to design incredibly moving scenarios as a great performer.
Steven King, Spielberg, Leonardo da Vinci, Mozart, they all present this creative power of performing in their minds, they arrange and position every scenario, whether is a moving picture or a still picture–it is all a story, because if it is not a story then it won’t create really deep emotion when the viewer or listener enjoys the art form.

In order to be truly creative genius, real talent which gets to the heart of the public, and, obviously, to the heart of the creator in the first place, there must exist face-to-face experience; however, this experience of the genius creator is not merely the experience of the outer environment, but it is the experience lived in the moment and created by the incredibly powerful mind’s eye.  The performance in the mind of the creator must be pristine and real, it must engage all your emotions and take over the very essence of your cellular composition, and it must feel like you are really there in the scenario and it must answer the questions you open with each movement in your mind; because if you cannot answer those questions, then, the public will not be able to answer them later, they will just walk away due to no deep human connection, specifically due to no INDIVIDUAL CONNECTION.

Extraordinary storytelling is mainly the direct or indirect sense of tension between storyteller and listener/ public, it does not matter the form of storytelling and it does not matter the genre of the story.  See, storytelling is the profound understanding of when tension is growing, remaining leveled, and when it is slackening; hence, if you are not keen or master of this process, chances are, you will not be very good at expressing yourself and connecting to people through the great art of storytelling, even though your intentions and wishes to connect may be heartfelt.

Storytelling is seizing the imagination of the audience in a subtle and/or unsubtle way, but always swiftly keeping tension and opening questions in the mind of this same audience, and this art is also connection through the screen, painting, or piece of writing.  That’s all it is.  Raw and uncut, flawed and human; because extraordinary storytelling gets close to life and we must take from it something to elevate the human spirit or to at least give us some meaning of something important to us.  Flawed and human, raw and uncut, I said, because human life itself is flawed as well; therefore, whoever seeks perfection in their art is not a true artist, due to true art being life and life being true art.

In this great art of the human experience, digressions and elaborations, your own twist and turns and individual mannerisms, are welcomed and suggested always; but, and you must pay attention to this very well, first you have to make sure the audience is hooked by the promise of something to come or some form of tension already created.  You as the creator and master storyteller cannot assume that the reader or audience will be as interested as you are in your art form, so you must project a deeper experience with some form of tension first, and once they are involved emotionally or hooked to your story then you can elaborate crazy characters and twists and turns.  This is the golden rule of all genius storytelling.

Being a master of storytelling is more than just creating art in the professional life, but it goes to the everyday life of the human being as well, for stories are all around us and they are what make human experience of value.  As a master storyteller you will connect deeper and create opportunities for yourself, motivate yourself and others to reach whatever is of importance, and emanate a sense of love into the world.
Because, remember, storytelling is life itself, and life is storytelling itself.

The bird that flies.

“We know that in tough times, cynicism is just another way to give up; and in the military, we consider cynicism or giving up simply as forms of cowardice.”  ~ James Mattis; American Marine Corps general, and United States Secretary of Defense.

Yes, it is true that life is challenging and painful, and this is why life, this wonderful physical existence we have been gifted with, is precious and rich; and this is also why it requires a higher mind, a higher person living based on truth and love, to understand why you should see life as what it is and not as what you think it is.  Look, if you see life as what you think it is, as what your thoughts are telling you it is, then you will probably end up suffering in all you do and even killing yourself because of all the enormous stresses weighing you down; however, if you put aside your opinions and immature thoughts about life, and so see it as what really is, then you will definitely thrive and gain the wisdom to move forward even when things seem dark in your path.

Life is like a little child:  If you use violence and try to force your own way, then the child will become resentful and unruly, disobedient and with a vengeful heart towards you and towards others.  But if you use good communication, trust and faith on the child, and, most importantly, patience in the rearing of that same child, then he will become giving and obedient to you, he will do as you say and make life really easy for you.

People adopt certain postures and views of life, either positive or negative and for whatever reason, this process can either blind people in darkness or turn on a powerful light on them, but always remember that life, in its natural or divine context, is pure and innocent like the child; so, it will do based on your thoughts, words, and attitudes, and like the child it will take the course you are telling it to take.  And like the child, life will observe you and see if you give up on it or not; then, if life sees that you give up on it, it will take offense and resentment, it will give you your deserved reward, the reward of someone that gives up and has no faith; but if life sees the patience and faith you have on it, the commanding voice and the deep love, then you will be blessed with great rewards and a life of a great attitude towards you..

The light at the end of the ladder which is your path is always brilliant and refreshing, but we cannot see it sometimes, or even feel it, because we let darkness, knowingly or unknowingly, overwhelm us with its presence.  And darkness always lives within us because it is that negative part in our human psyches, that challenging part which gives worth to that physical existence I was mentioning at the start; on the other hand, we have been given powerful light within us as well, to battle and extinguish that same darkness from affecting us to the point of breakdown–i.e., because our bodies and minds are like very sophisticated computers, they can either run with power and efficiency, or breakdown with poisonous viruses and lack of good maintenance of the software.

You are the maintenance of your own sophisticated computer, so it is up to you!

In order not to give up and let darkness take you over in life, you MUST become aware of your thoughts and emotions, not let thoughts and emotions dictate your existence but raise above them and rule them like a god rules over lesser beings.  By becoming proactive and practical, by stepping out of your funk and out of your own biased opinions and narrow views of the sadness and pain in life, you become truly aware and faithful and patient towards life; consequently, life will become your best friend and you will start seeing opportunities and reasons to feel happy every single day (some may call this blessings, but in essence it is just that you are following the Universal Law and not going against it).

Being creative and engaging in activities that create good thoughts and feelings in us, specially when darkness and misery knock our psychological door, is the biggest and most important tool life, in its wisdom, has given us to battle these demons of darkness.  This is not about denying pain and misery, or not feeling the ugly things about life, but this is about not letting darkness and misery consume you.  This is about the bird that flies into the vastness of the blue sky, and not about the bird of broken wings that lies in the dirt waiting to be trampled by someone.

As Napoleon Hill said, and it is in fact a powerful writing hanging on my wall which I contemplate every single day, “A Quitter Never Wins.  A WINNER Never Quits.”

And I never give up.  I always steer to win.
